How do I register my property?
Read the following FAQs then use the Registration Form to give us your contact and property details. Give your property a descriptive name or title to aid listing. Send us your photographs and written description of the property.

How do I photograph my property?
Photography is crucial, in conjunction with a sensible written description, to best define your property to production teams. Be systematic. List and number your pictures. Keep groups of photos (i.e. hallway, lounge or kitchen) together. Take a photo of any unique or interesting feature and list it in your written description.

Photograph each room shooting from each of the four corners facing into the room. Ask yourself if there is anything of interest that may require another photo. DO NOT use a wide angle lens or setting as this will misrepresent a room's actual size. Keep your photos 'square' (i.e. the verticals are vertical and the horizontals are horizontal). Name your photos logically (i.e. 01_kitchen_pantry, 02_kitchen_cooker). Avoid spaces in photograph file names. Always shoot in .jpg file format. Number your photos concurrently (i.e. 01, 02,...50). Take as many photographs as you need to fully illustrate the property. Photograph in good light conditions.

All photos should be shot landscape and be a minimum width of 1000 pixels.

How do I describe my property?
Write a brief but detailed description of your property. List rooms in the same order you have photographed them. Reference photograph numbers (i.e. Kitchen - photos 01-06) especially when naming unique features.

How do I use the library?
Use the 'search' facility. Selections can be made by region, town and style/type. You can also enter 'keywords' like 'Loft' and/or 'cellar'. Selecting 'UK Library' in the main menu bar will deliver all our current properties. Once any list of properties has been generated selecting the property 'title', 'thumbnail image' or 'view full details' button will deliver that properties 'gallery page'. Selecting any of the images within the gallery page will launch a 'slideshow' of all the images contained in that property gallery. You can step through the images in the slideshow with the forward and backward arrow keys on your keyboard or by placing your cursor over the left or right sides of the image and clicking.

What are the library fees?
Use of the library to source locations is free. If a location is found and an agreement made to hire Film Locations will be due 15% of the hire fee from the owner of the property. We strongly advise property owners to allow Film Locations to negotiate the property hire fee. Our knowledge of production budgets and 'the market' will guarantee the best price.

How do I book a location?
When you have found a property (or properties) contact us via our Enquiry Form listing our property reference numbers and/or outline anything relevant to your production brief.
